WEDGE FORCE Oolong is a virtual acoustic guitar instrument developed by WEDGE FORCE. It enables keyboardists and producers to perform realistic, expressive acoustic guitar parts directly within their digital audio workstations (DAWs).

  Key Features

• Multi-Signal Mixing Console: Oolong provides three distinct outputs:

  • DI Signal: A clean acoustic guitar direct input signal ready for re-amping with effects.

  • Studio-MIC Signal: Captured using professional studio microphones.

  • Ambient-MIC Signal: Recorded using the Blumlein pair technique for ambient room tones.Users have full control over mixing these signals to achieve the desired tone. 

• Synthetic Force Engine III: Unlike traditional sample-based instruments, Oolong synthesizes each note in real-time using algorithms designed to preserve the original waveform timbre. This approach captures the nuances of live guitar performances, including harmonic resonances and dynamic articulations.

• Expressive Controls:

  • Plucking Position Control: Adjust the plucking position in real-time using the MOD wheel on your MIDI keyboard, allowing for tonal variations similar to playing closer to the bridge or neck.

  • String Damping: Control the damping force from fully open to heavily muted strings, mapped to a controller on your MIDI keyboard for live performance adjustments.

  • Strumming Note Offset: Simulate realistic strumming by introducing slight delays between notes when playing chords.

  • AI-Powered Picking Simulation: Oolong uses AI to predict the picking direction and plucking finger based on playing parameters, selecting different samples for dynamic and realistic sounds. 

• Extended Range: Oolong can synthesize notes up to two octaves below the guitar neck, extending into the bass range while maintaining natural acoustic guitar timbre.

• Studio-Quality Effects:

  • Delay and Flanger: Onboard effects for crafting modern tones.

  • Multi-Band Compressor: Custom-built to preserve bright high-end frequencies.

• Surround Sound Support: Oolong supports multi-channel outputs (5.1, 7.1, up to 7.1.2), making it suitable for immersive audio applications in film and game soundtracks. 

• Performance Optimization: The sound engine is optimized for low CPU usage and near-zero latency (less than 1 millisecond), ensuring responsiveness suitable for live performances.
